Device for quick and simultaneous bending of four (4) seams required for producing a product from thin sheet metal.

Project content:

  • gathering/analyzing background information and defining the problem,
  • developing a concept solution in collaboration with the client,
  • selecting mechanical purchased products and finding a supplier,
  • designing the frame and other mechanical parts of the device,
  • selecting components for the electrical system,
  • programming an electronical control system,
  • assembling and testing the device
  • adjusting the device to the production situation.

Project result:

  • Technical drawings and diagrams for manufacturing the device.
  • Physical prototype of the device.

Adapter for testing a boat’s outboard motor

Adapter for attaching the outboard motor to the transom, allowing quick and convenient adjustment of the motor’s position relative to the boat during a test run. The purpose of the adapter is to enable finding the optimal motor position (distance and height) relative to the boat’s transom during a test run.

Strength analyses of steel structures for a ferry terminal tube

Project content:

  • creating calculation models according to the existing structure,
  • performing analysis using the finite element method (FEM) .

  • Report of the analysis results.

Cellar hatch in a private house floor

Wooden cellar hatch in the concrete floor of a private house, which can be opened both electrically and manually. The hatch can also be opened manually in situations where
there is no electricity or the electric drive fails.

Project content:

  • developing the concept in collaboration with the client,
  • kinematics/dynamics analyses for developing a smart opening system
  • selecting purchased products (concealed hinges and electric drive),
  • designing mechanical parts.

Project result:

  • Unique mechanical solution that allows the hatch to be opened both electrically and manually.

Concept of a mobile laundry

Mobile laundry equipped with industrial laundry devices (tunnel+press) on semi-trailers for quick relocation, for example, to crisis areas.

Project content:

  • gathering and analyzing background information,
  • developing the layout of the devices according to the laundry technology and the dimensions of the devices.

Project result:

  • 3D CAD model of the developed concept solution
  • 2D layout plans of the device placement on semi-trailers and the positioning of the railers in the laundry operating situation.

Designing a lighter boom for a mini excavator

Mini excavator towed as a light trailer by a passenger car for soil excavation, with a total mass greater than allowed. The task is to analyze the existing boom structure and find solutions to reduce its mass.

Project content:

  • examining and analyzing the existing structure,
  • creating a kinematics/dynamics model,
  • simulation to find reaction forces in all joints throughout the boom’s movement range to identify the most critical load situations,
  • designing a new structure with optimal material usage using the found reaction forces and Autodesk Inventor’s “Shape Generator” tool,
  • performing verification calculations using the finite element method (FEM).

Project result:

  • Approximately 50% lighter structure.
  • Technical drawings for manufacturing the boom parts.

Side-tipping tractor trailer for peat transport

Designing a new trailer with larger capacity and lower mass based on existing trailers and user experience.

Project content:

  • examining and analyzing existing trailers and user experience,
  • developing multiple concepts and selecting the best one in collaboration with the client,
  • kinematics/dynamics analysis for the tipping and hatch opening mechanism,
  • strength analyses (FEM) for the trailer and box frame to determine overall strength and tipping cylinder locations,

Project result:

  • 28% increase in box water capacity, 18% increase in trailer empty weight.
  • Technical drawings for manufacturing the trailer.

Ditch bucket

Designing a new digger bucket based on an existing old bucket (no drawings available) and user experience, meeting modern manufacturing technologies and materials.

Project content:

  • analyzing and measuring existing digger buckets,
  • 3D design of the bucket.

Strength analyses of steel structures for an advertising board

Strength analysis (FEM) of a lattice structure for an advertising board (6 m x 3 m) mounted on a pedestal under wind load.

Project content:

  • calculating wind resistance force based on installation location
  • creating calculation models according to the existing structure,
  • performing calculations using the finite element method (FEM).

Project result:

  • Report of the analysis results.
